John Bolton Memorial Award

The John Bolton Memorial Award commemorates the life of John Bolton, who was President of the Institute from 1985 to 1986. John Bolton’s connection with the Institute was long standing; he was a regular attendee at the Annual Conferences and a guest speaker at the Annual Dinner. He encouraged the involvement of his technical expert colleagues to attend the Institute’s one day seminars and oftenparticipated himself. He was made a Companion of the most Honourable Order of the Bath in the New Years Honours List in 1985.

The John Bolton Memorial Award for excellence in the field of education, training and development. This award is for a Facilities Directorate, NHS Trust, or Health Service provider to the NHS, who has contributed to the development, training and career progression of their staff and delivered service improvements in the field of Estates and Facilities.

The award winning organisation will be selected from the nominations received by the IHEEM Education & Training Committee and will be presented with an inscribed medal and a certificate.
