HVAC & Energy Technical Platform

The Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Energy Technical Platform (HVAC & Energy TP) is the IHEEM focus area for matters relating to this subject.

The HVAC & Energy TP will provide information and guidance for members and advise on matters of special interest as they arise. They will promote and support technical papers, which can be printed in the HEJ. They will also be asked to provide comment on HTMs, and HBNs, and other guidance from the Department of Health and the Devolved Authorities.

Recommended Reference documents and equipment for those advising or working on Healthcare Ventilation Systems

Those working with Healthcare Ventilation Systems should have access to and use of industry standards, peer reviewed reference documents, organisations and specialist equipment. These lists are applicable for use by project managers, designers, installers, commissioners, validators, operators, maintainers, verifiers, infection prevention and others with an interest in Healthcare Ventilation.

Comments and feedback

The platform committee welcomes comments and suggestions particularly for documents marked as draft, the platform also welcomes ideas and help for any guidance or other outputs that meet the platforms objectives.

The HVAC & E Technical Platform will meet not less than once per year, and more often as determined by the Platform Chair. 

Meetings will be held in a suitable location, as determined by the Platform. Meeting rooms may be hired by IHEEM on behalf of the Platform, or may be provided free of charge by commercial entities (which may or may not include refreshments and basic amenities).

In the case of a meeting room being offered free of charge by a commercial entity, this does not in any way show endorsement of the commercial entity’s products by either IHEEM or the Platform, and there shall be no commercial activities other than the provision of educational information, if agreed by the Platform.   Examples of educational information may include facility tours and presentation of technical information that is not specific to a commercial product.
