International Travel Bursary

IHEEM's overseas travel bursary award is a practical opportunity for members to develop their careers.

Launched in 2011, the bursary scheme provides an annual award of £5,000 to enable 2 members of the Institute to travel abroad and participate in a specific and relevant healthcare engineering or facility management project in a developing nation.

This is an excellent initiative that will provide encouragement and benefit for the Institute’s ambitious younger members who want to become leaders in their field of expertise. This overseas travel bursary scheme will provide inspirational young people with IHEEM support to undertake wider professional development and gain valuable project management experience while providing a technical contribution to a developing nation. This is a worthy cause for all concerned.” Chief Executive, John Long.

IHEEM has formed a link with Engineers Without Borders UK an organisation that provides development opportunities for young engineers to work in developing countries, via a series of short term placements.   Members wishing to apply for this bursary may find assistance in undertaking a project by contacting Engineers Without Borders UK.

For an informal discussion about the award or for any queries, please contact Chris Parker, Recruitment and Membership Manager on 023 9282 3186 or email: chris.parker@iheem.org.uk

Applications for 2011 are now closed.
