The system, supplied by Kontakt.io, was tested on the hospital’s rehabilitation unit to track equipment and is now being extended to the 70 bed NRC. Located on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate near Loughborough, the centre will be run by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust and provide care for people recovering from life-changing illness or injury.
The technology will be deployed across the NRC site and integrated into its digital infrastructure. Key features include:
- Asset tracking to help staff locate equipment quickly.
- Smart safety badges that allow staff to send and receive instant alerts in emergencies.
- Patient location wristbands to monitor movement across the estate, reducing absconding risks while supporting rehabilitation schedules.
According to the NRC, the system is intended to improve efficiency and safety for patients and staff, while supporting the centre’s focus on combining rehabilitation with digital innovation.
