GDPR - Let's keep in touch

24 May 2018

It's a dry subject, grab a cuppa and read on about GDPR!

As one of our valued contacts we wanted to inform you of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a new EU law that comes into effect on 25 May 2018. This new law will be replacing the current Data Protection Act and will introduce new requirements on how organisations process personal data. Also, GPDR and the compliance of the UK won’t be affected by Brexit.

With the new law there are a number of things that the Institute now needs to do differently, one of the biggest changes is that people have to be given the option to opt-in to any form of communication, no pre-ticked boxes or implied consent. For example, it can’t be assumed that they consent this year because they did last year. People also now have the right to access their own personal data to see what we hold on them and what we are doing with their data.

We’d like to make sure that you only receive the information that is relevant to you.
