IHEEM'S CHARITY OF THE YEAR 2018

29 May 2018

To celebrate IHEEM’s 75th Anniversary we have decided to nominate a ‘charity of the year’ in recognition of this momentous occasion.  We are hoping to raise money throughout the year, for this worthwhile charity; at our events, conferences and also through our 'Just Giving' page.

With lots of charities to choose from it was a hard decision to make, but we have decided to support Portsmouth Hospitals Charity and the great work that they do to help support many Wards and Departments at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth - the city of IHEEM’s Head Office.

We hope that you agree with us and will support IHEEM’s ‘charity of the year’ by donating at one of our events, promoting it on your website or making a donation on our ‘Just Giving’ page.

‘Supporting a Healthy Future’

The NHS receives funds from the government to provide healthcare, but there is an ever-increasing demand to improve facilities and provide better care for patients, which need public support.

Portsmouth Hospitals Charity aims to serve the patients of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust by providing additional facilities and equipment, supporting research programmes and innovation in the development of services and education to both patients and staff.  The charity funds many different projects across the Trust that enhance patient care.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute hospital trusts in the country.  We provide a full range of services to more than 650,000 people across Portsmouth, South East Hampshire and West Sussex.  Whilst most services are provided at Queen Alexandra Hospital, we also offer a range of outpatient and diagnostic facilities within local communities which are closer to patient homes.

To do this we rely on the kindness and generosity of the many individuals, groups and companies who donate their time and money.

This would include:

  •     Improvements to patient care

  •     State-of-the-art equipment or additional equipment available through NHS funding

  •     Medical research

  •     Providing the best possible environment for patients, staff and visitors
