This CPD module explains why despite sound standards and guidelines many heating and cooling systems still suffer the often disastrous and costly effects of corrosion. The course explains what causes corrosion in closed systems and how it can be avoided. It goes on to show that continuous monitoring of system corrosion rates can prevent the high costs associated with corrosion damage.

Lucas Vogan as the Technical Sales Manager of Geberit Sales UK will be joined by Gordon Pringle, HASL Managing Director. Gordon assumed the role in 2004 having previously worked as Sales Director since 1996 within the family business. The role covered a wide range of sectors including Commercial Buildings, Universities, Schools, Hospitals and Residential Housing Blocks throughout the UK.

In January 2017 HASL was appointed UK & Ireland Distributors of the RESUS Risycor Corrosion Monitors, where they have championed for the delivery of greater systematic transparency of the basic corrosion principles throughout the UK. HASL has been involved in many Scottish Hospitals including, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary PFI, ACADs Victoria & Stobhill PFI and Forth Valley Acute hospital PFI to name a few.

Date: 21st November 2019
Time: 6:30pm
Venue/location: Bouygues E&S, Becket House, London

The speakers:

Graeme Tucker, Sales Director, Power Control Ltd

With a background in UPS installation and maintenance, Graeme has extensive experience within the healthcare industry and is a long-serving member of the Power Control team. He not only heads up the sales team but also delivers a high level of technical support.

John Sams, Regional Sales Manager, Power Control Ltd

John has over 30 years of experience in delivering UPS solutions including ATS, STS, generator and switchgear for critical infrastructures
across all market sectors. Extending across the EMEA territory, his experience has included pharma, MRI, CT, SCAN, PET, IPS and data centres within healthcare estates.

Paul Hicks, Engineering Sales Consultant, Starkstrom Ltd

With over a decade of experience in the field, Paul is an expert in delivering a solution-lead approach to IPS enquiries.

Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) form a critical part of a healthcare estates power supply infrastructure. When coupled with an Isolated Power Supply (IPS) and backup diesel generators, they ensure a continuous and uninterrupted supply of power to operating theatres and other critical care areas including fire and security applications.

Graeme, John and Paul will discuss how these systems harmoniously provide continuity within a healthcare facility and conform to IEC 60364-7-710 amongst other criteria such as those outlined in
the HTM06-01. They will also discuss the component structure, recommended configurations and how to correctly size for the UPS as well as the servicing and maintenance of each system.

The seminar is suitable for all levels of critical power understanding and of particular interest to healthcare consultants, healthcare contractors and estate managers.

Following the presentation will be a short Q&A session and refreshments.

To confirm your attendance please email Stephen Perfect London & S E Branch Secretary IHEEM.

To be held at Static Systems Group Design & Innovation Centre, Wombourne, WV5 8AN
Tuesday 26th November 2019
08:00 - 10:00 AM

The IHEEM West Midlands Branch would like to invite you to their next Branch meeting on Tuesday 26th November. Following some previous well attended breakfast meetings, we have arranged times to hopefully fit around our busy schedules. We will meet for breakfast rolls, coffee and networking from 08:00 at Static Systems Group, Heath Mill Road, Wombourne, WV5 8AN.

Static Systems will then introduce their recently refurbished Innovations Ward, forming part of their Design and Innovation Centre. This short presentation will include the background to the refurbishment and the key points and objectives of the facility.

A focus for the refurbishment, working alongside Grosvenor Interiors was to demonstrate how specialist interior design and bedhead services trunking can be blended to bring synergy to the design and enhancement of the patient room. In addition, and working in partnership with recognised specialists such as Vocera, Centrak and Thorlux Lighting, the presentation will reference the benefits of collaborative working to help meet some of today’s healthcare challenges.

Following the presentation, there will be time to view the Innovations Ward and associated facilities and take part in an informal question and answer session. It is anticipated that the event will formally finish by 10:00 AM.

We are certain that this interesting and informative event will provide a great opportunity for networking with other local members.

Non-IHEEM members are welcome to attend and we would also encourage you to bring guests who may be interested in the presentation.
