Job Title: Painter/Decorator

Overview

  • To assist the Hospital Estates Department in the provision of an efficient and cost-effective system of maintenance,
    including the maintenance of the building fabric internally and externally.
  • Decoration of small construction works and refurbishments.
  • All in accordance with current legislation, standards, guidance and good working practices

NHS Banding

3 or 4

Salary

£19K-£24K

Formal Qualifications, education & training required

  • Recognised trade training or NVQ
  • Recognised building trade apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ

Essential skills and competencies

  • Minimum 5 years trade experience
  • Internal decorative painting of walls and ceilings
  • Painting of external frames, cills and fascia’s, etc.
  • Washing down of walls and ceilings
  • Wallpaper stripping and hanging
  • Applying industrial coatings to machinery.
  • Working in a health care environment.

Desirable skills and competencies

  • Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Work as a team member sharing tasks and duties
  • Work on own initiative independently

Essential experience

  • Minimum 5 years trade experience
  • Internal decorative painting of walls and ceilings
  • Painting of external frames, cills and fascia’s, etc.
  • Washing down of walls and ceilings Wallpaper stripping and hanging
  • Applying industrial coatings to machinery.
  • Working in a health care environment
  • Participation in specialist Health Service training
  • Participation in cross-trade training Prepared to share skills and knowledge with other team members
  • Undergo ongoing personal development
  • Current clean driving license.

Job Title: Carpenter/Joiner

Overview

  • To assist the Hospital Estates Department in the provision of an efficient and cost effective system of maintenance, including the maintenance of
    the building fabric internally and externally, manufacturing of timber components, undertaking of small construction works and refurbishments.
  • All in accordance with current legislation, standards, guidance and good working practices

NHS Banding

3 or 4

Salary

£19K-£24K

Formal Qualifications, education & training required

  • Recognised trade training or NVQ
  • Recognised building trade apprenticeship or equivalent NVQ

Essential skills and competencies

  • Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship
  • Internal joinery maintenance, repair, installation work
  • External carpentry maintenance and repair work
  • Work in a healthcare environment

Desirable skills and competencies

  • Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Work as a team member sharing tasks and duties
  • Work on own initiative independently

Essential experience

  • Minimum 5 years post apprenticeship
  • Internal joinery maintenance, repair, installation work
  • External carpentry maintenance and repair work
