Overview
This healthcare-based course is designed for Water Safety Group members and staff producing/using Water Safety Plans. Topics covered include a background of WSPs, risks posed by waterborne bacteria and how a water safety group can work to minimise and manage the risks. Training will focus on preparation, risk assessment and system design issues. Delegates will gain an appreciation of clinical and engineering risk assessment and the practical measures which can be implemented to control identified risks.
Delegates will acquire the knowledge and skills to:
- Be aware of the history and development of water safety plans.
- Understand the operational monitoring and management of control measures.
- Implement and manage a WSP in a healthcare setting.
- Make a WSP work by identification of hazards, risk assessment (clinical hygiene and engineering).
