IHEEM Awards - 2012

Recognition of public contribution to healthcare engineering and estate management and excellence in achievement is at the heart of the work of the Institute. The Institute has a number of outstanding engineers, estate managers and others in related disciplines whose achievements in professional healthcare practice have an impact on a regional and national scale. Awards and prizes given by the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management seek to recognise those achievements – as well as others within the industry - in honouring those individuals and promoting broader public appreciation.

For 2012 the Institute has reviewed, revised and re-launched the five awards and made most of the awards open to the whole of the healthcare industry supply chain – not just the IHEEM members - and also introduced a new category – Best Innovative Product or Service of the Year.

Nominations for all the awards (apart from the Northcroft Silver Medal and the William E Schall Award) are invited from individuals, IHEEM branches, NHS or private organisations and these should be submitted via the IHEEM website and should adhere to the Award’s eligibility criteria. The deadline for nominations is 31st July 2012.

The prizes for each of the awards are as follows:

Lifetime Achievement

Medal and Certificate

John Bolton

Medal and Certificate

William E Schall

£50 and Certificate

Lucas Scholarship

IHEEM Conference Pass and Certificate

The Awards will be presented at a formal dinner on the first night of the annual IHEEM Healthcare Estates Conference and Exhibition which runs from 9-10 October 2012 in Manchester.

We hope that short-listed entrants will attend the annual dinner and Awards to see if they have won!

There will also be runner-up or highly commended certificates presented for some of the awards categories where appropriate.  The winners will be entitled to claim reasonable expenses (i.e. their travel costs and accommodation on the night of the Awards Ceremony), where the winners are a group of people or an organisation then the entitlement will be for a maximum of two people.

The IHEEM Annual Dinner and Awards can be booked through the Healthcare Estates Conference micro-site.
