The President - Paul Kingsmore

Paul Kingsmore - Photo.jpgThe President provides leadership to the Council and ensures that trustees fulfill their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the Institute. The President supports, and where appropriate challenges, the Chief Executive and ensures that the Council as a whole works in partnership with executive staff. 

Paul Kingsmore became President of IHEEM in 2010. Paul has been the Director of National Services Scotland with responsibility for Health Facilities Scotland since October 2004. He is a qualified Chartered Mechanical Engineer and started his engineering training with Short Brothers, Belfast. His career in healthcare began in 1982 as an Engineer within the Health Service in Northern Ireland. He held several posts until he moved to Scotland in 1993 as Estates Manager at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline, eventually becoming Deputy Director of Operations at Fife Acute Hospitals NHS Trust. Paul is a registered NHS Project Director; he leads and is a member of a number of National Advisory Groups.
