Our products, which are custom made to suit specific applications, include manual, automatic and hermetic swing and sliding doors. Also included within our portfolio are low level glazed screens and curtain wall systems steel doors and fire doors.

Axis is the proud developer of the Flo-Motion® manual sliding door system, a multi award winning and innovative product designed specifically for BDP Architects and installed at the new Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. With options of single sliding, bi-parting and telescopic doors, all offering low opening forces, Flo-Motion® doors are now featured in many hospitals proving popular in ICU and A&E environments.

Both our original and new Flo-Motion doors ranges continue to undergo testing to meet the demands of the healthcare sector. Both track systems have undergone the 1,000,000 cycle durability tests using a 135kg door panel that comfortably exceeds the requirements of BS EN 1527:2019 which is only 100,000 cycles.

To ensure that the Flo-Motion door performs as specified, everyone is digitally force test once installed on site and a certificate issued that includes a graph displaying the results.

To the best of our knowledge, Axis is the only company that undertakes durability and performance tests of this magnitude on low friction manual sliding doors.

In 2024, the ten most popular models of our Flo-Motion doors were included in the EPD Verification scheme and are published on BRE’s Green Book Live portal.

Whilst our Flo-Motion doors are bespoke, we developed an innovative online Clear Opening Calculator that allows you to select the best door option to meet your requirements. Standard door parameters are offered, and you only need to enter the structural opening dimensions to obtain the achievable clear openings. Where doors are sliding over walls or screens, you will need to enter the clear opening width. For bespoke applications, please contact us to discuss any doors outside of the normal parameters or if extended glazed screens are required.

Perfectly complementing their Flo-Motion® range of manual sliding doors, Axis is proud to also have UK distributor partnerships with both Doorson and Manusa – two world class innovators and manufacturers of advanced automatic sliding doors and access systems.

Axis is an active member and contributor to the Architects for Health network and also has the coveted award of a place on the ProCure23 Recommended Suppliers List enabling the company to continue contributing to new build, refurbishment & maintenance projects within NHS properties, across the UK. Axis is also a member of the Automatic Door Suppliers Association. Risk assessments to BS7036-0 ensure all installations conform to EN16005:2012 safety standards.

We manufacture the aluminium doors at our factory in Northampton. As we fabricate, install and commission the products, it means that we take full responsibility for our involvement in the project. Our technicians are EN16005 certified, the standard for powered pedestrian doors and hold CSCS cards along with other accreditations. Preventative Maintenance Agreements are available to help protect your investment and extend the effective work like of the door.
