As lead architect, landscape architect and interior designer for the Kier-led delivery team, Arcadis designed the Velindre @ Nevill Hall Radiotherapy Unit in Abergavenny for Aneurin Bevan University Health Board.
Opened in July 2025, the facility provides local radiotherapy treatment for patients across South East Wales, reducing travel times and improving access to care.
The new unit features two linear accelerators, a CT scanner, a medical physics department, staff accommodation and engineering workshops. Patient areas, including consultation rooms and waiting areas, are positioned to take advantage of views towards the Blorenge and Brecon Beacons National Park.
Arcadis worked closely with Kier Construction and Velindre NHS Trust to deliver the project.
Arcadis also led the design of 19 Hills Health & Wellbeing Centre in Newport, part of the Welsh Government’s programme to improve community health access. The centre, recently opened to the public, includes clinical spaces, dental services, community wellbeing areas and agile staff bases, supporting preventative care and wider community health initiatives.
