Designing for healthcare has never been more challenging or more important – increasing complexity of diseases and care needs, diminishing resources, and rapidly evolving technology. Pressures and models of care are changing. Today’s healthcare needs buildings which are flexible, innovative and affordable. Most importantly – places where staff and patients feel safe, and can be cared for with compassion and dignity in appropriate, well designed supportive environments.

As well as designing high-quality new buildings, we are skilled at delivering complex, technical refurbishments of existing healthcare estates. We often work in live environments, solving clinical problems, and adding real value to the service. We guide clients to achieve outcomes which optimise the use of space, improve clinical flows, enhance the patient, staff and visitor environment whilst achieving best value. We examine sites with rigour and sensitivity, unlocking potential through creative, inspiring design concepts. Phasing is key to the success of such projects – we are used to working closely with teams to ‘scenario plan’ and bring experience of ‘what works’.
