The Trust’s Experience of Care programme, which brings together people with lived experience of mental health services to shape and improve care, has been shortlisted for the Mental Health Safety Improvement Award and the Patient Involvement in Safety Award
In addition, the Trust’s Staff Trauma Support Service has been shortlisted for the Staff Wellbeing Initiative of the Year Award, acknowledging its vital role in supporting colleagues who experience trauma in the course of their work.
The Experience of Care programme has become a cornerstone of AWP’s approach to imbedding lived experience into service design, safety initiatives, and staff training, while the Staff Trauma Support Service provides confidential, specialist support to colleagues following distressing or traumatic incidents.
Jo Collins, AWP’s deputy head of experience of care, said: “Being shortlisted for two HSJ awards is a powerful acknowledgement of the people who generously share their lived experience to help us improve. Their insight challenges us, grounds us, and ensures that the care we deliver is shaped by the people who know it best.”
