Bath Street was built in 2012 to offer local residents a range of integrated health and social care services in one building. The five-storey health centre includes GP practices, dental services, physiotherapy, a pharmacy, and also already provides breast screening services to the local community. With a growing local population, Bath Street has been earmarked for £900,000 of investment to further expand the services and facilities on offer to residents. Construction work on the project is now underway, and will help to deliver additional breast screening capacity and improved patient experience.
CHP said: “The improvement works will help create a second breast screening room at Bath Street, allowing the centre to screen even more local patients. Locating breast screening services into a modern, purpose-built clinical environment, and a building that is fully accessible, with better transport and parking options, will also significantly improve patient experience.”
Additional clinical rooms will also provide a boost to services. A currently vacant office and meeting room space in the Bath Street building will be transformed to create new clinical rooms for staff to use, helping to support increased delivery of patient services.
The Bath Street improvement works bring together Community Health Partnerships, Renova, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, and Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Construction work is expected to be completed over the summer.
