The development is the second healthcare facility built by Caddick on behalf of United Healthcare Developments, following its recent completion of the Carlisle Healthcare South Hub. Both have achieved a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating, which Caddick says has been achieved ‘through a meticulous design and build process focused on integrated ventilation systems and a fabric first’ energy-efficient design’.
The Milnrow & Newhey Medical Centre is a single building spanning over 4,470 m2 with ground, first, and second floor levels that will be used to provide suites for consultation, examination, treatment, and meetings. With an EPC rating of A+ (-8), the building now ‘sits proudly’ in the Net Zero Operational Energy Category. Located on Newhey Road, it will provide easy access to patients travelling from the wider area. The work also included the provision of a secure staff, patient, and visitor car park, a paved area, lighting, and landscaping to create a high-quality outside space.

Elsewhere in the North West, Caddick Construction’s projects include new and improved science facilities at life science and innovation campus, Alderley Park, and the construction of Base at Manchester Science Park – ‘a vibrant science and tech community in the heart of the Oxford Road Corridor Innovation district’.
