David started his Hospital career in 1967 as a Chief Superintendent Engineer, then was the Hospital Engineer at Kingston District Hospital were in 1979 the first ever outbreak of Legionella happened in a Hospital in the UK. From there came the Kingston controls now the HSE ACOP L8 document.
He has been continually active in the investigations of Legionella and other water bourne microorganisms in the UK and worldwide.
His Knowledge is ever extensive indeed and has been an expert witness in a court many time. He tends to be on the practical side sorting out problems when they occur. He has also been awarded the Life Time achievement award with his work dealing with water bourne disease worldwide and also lectures on the same.
