NHS Grampian invites exceptional leaders to apply for the opportunity to join our team as the Director of Infrastructure, Sustainability & Support Services. This is a unique opportunity to take the reins of this critical portfolio, leading a talented team and shaping the strategic and operational direction of NHS Grampian.
As a valued member of our Chief Executive Team, you will report directly to the Chief Executive and provide expert guidance to the Board on all matters related to this Portfolio. Your leadership and professional expertise will be instrumental in driving NHS Grampian towards our Plan for the Future.
With around 2,500 dedicated staff and a robust 5-year capital investment plan, including the prestigious Baird & ANCHOR healthcare facilities, which are currently NHS Scotland’s biggest construction projects, your role will be pivotal in their success. You will hold ultimate accountability for the strategic and operational aspects of our Infrastructure, Sustainability, and Support Services Directorate.
Your responsibilities will span Capital Planning, Sustainability and Estates and Facilities Management services, working closely with decision-makers in both clinical and non-clinical areas. As a systems leader, you will identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective estates and facilities services across our health and care system.
As a key influencer and contributor, you will actively shape our corporate objectives, performance management, and governance to ensure high-quality health and care services for the citizens of Grampian. With strong ties to local universities and as the third-largest teaching Health Board in Scotland, NHS Grampian offers a vibrant and collaborative environment.
The Infrastructure, Sustainability & Support Services Directorate plays a pivotal role in maintaining a state-of-the-art infrastructure, driving service reform, modernisation and the delivery of safe and effective healthcare facilities. As the Director, you will lead transformative change, aligning with NHS Grampian’s Plan for the Future, while fostering a unified vision, values, and culture to drive systemic change.
To thrive in this executive role, candidates will be educated to Masters Level, with managerial qualifications or significant equivalent experience. Demonstrable senior management expertise in large, complex organisations is highly desirable, preferably within the NHS or Public Sector.
This executive position involves interfacing at the highest level across the organisation and beyond, influencing and developing regional and national strategies. Your leadership will be instrumental in representing NHS Grampian and providing guidance on national groups, while actively contributing to emerging regional initiatives.
Join us at NHS Grampian and make a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the 550,000 people we serve in Grampian and across the north east of Scotland. Working jointly with the three Health and Social Care Partnerships (Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray), together we will drive innovation, deliver excellence, and shape the future of healthcare in our region.
