NHSPS worked with NHS South West London, Wandsworth Council, Battersea Power Station, Peabody, and Battersea Fields Practice to deliver the centre, which will enable Battersea Fields Practice to accommodate a growing local population and provide a stronger base for a wider range of NHS services.
The development is a long-term property response to the Nine Elms Vauxhall Opportunity Area regeneration programme, which includes at least 18,500 new homes.
Amanda Challis, senior estates manager at NHSPS, said: “This new health centre is an important investment in local healthcare, giving patients access to a modern, purpose-built health centre that provides a high-quality environment for patients, staff, and local services.
“Through collaboration with our partners, we have created a space that supports joined-up care and helps services respond to the needs of the evolving community in this important development within the Battersea area.”
Dr Sara Morgenstern, lead GP at Battersea Fields Practice, said: “We’re really pleased to be welcoming patients to our new Sleaford Street site. It is a significant improvement on our previous premises, providing a more spacious and comfortable environment for patients and staff.
“Most importantly, it gives us greater flexibility to expand the services we offer and work alongside other local health and care organisations, helping more patients access the care they need closer to home.”
