Taking up the role of director of Health and Safety, Mark Allen (pictured) brings 11 years’ experience and expertise in Construction, Design, and Management (CDM), particularly as a Principal designer. In his new role, he will focus on developing ‘industry-leading processes’, strengthening collaboration within the fast-growing team, and establishing additional regional teams. He will also support Pick Everard’s National Building Safety Act and Building Regulations Principal Designer team with its growth plans.

Having worked in local authority, residential, retail, healthcare, and heritage sectors, I look forward to applying my experience to support the team’s continued growth and success.”
Joining alongside Mark is Simon Carey, as Senior Health and Safety consultant. With over 15 years’ experience, he began his career at Severn Trent Water, before leading building safety compliance across estates – covering fire safety, electrical, asbestos, and mechanical compliance. His expertise spans utilities, heritage construction, and occupational and behavioural safety.
The two appointments bring to 35 the headcount on Pick Everard’s Health and Safety team. The consultancy is also heavily investing in upskilling its existing team, with several members recently undergoing extensive training with the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) and the Association for Project Safety (APS).
This strategic growth is set to extend Pick Everard’s geographical reach, particularly across London, the North, and South West.
