Steve Batson, Studio director, and SGP’s Healthcare team lead, said: “I have worked with Babor for over 20 years, and am delighted to be working with him again. SGP says the new appointee has successfully delivered a variety of healthcare estate projects – from inception to practical completion, ‘working in highly pressurised environments within time and budget constraints, and solely managing high-value projects ranging from £1m – £40m +’.
Babor Qureshi said: “Having worked in the sector for many years, I understand the complexity of healthcare estate management, and the huge pressures the NHS has been under for decades. I will apply my experience in developing client relationships, along with technical knowledge, and the ability to work closely with project managers and contractors, to help deliver buildable facilities that will improve the work life of staff, and the outcomes for patients, for decades to come.”
The extensive portfolio of healthcare-related projects under his belt include acute and secondary care new-build and refurbishment projects, including specialist cancer and radiotherapy facilities, theatres, and diagnostics centres.
Babor Qureshi added: “I plan to share my skills and expertise across the SGP offices, supporting the firm’s continued growth in the health estate sector. I currently mentor Part 3 students on their journey to becoming qualified architects, and am keen to foster the next generation of professionals.”
