Development of the £16 million Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre has begun opposite the town’s current community hospital to make way for the new facility which, once fully open, will become the new home for many of the services based within the outdated current hospital buildings. The building is being developed by NHS Property Services and funded by NHS England, the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire Integrated Care Board, and Wiltshire Council, with completion expected at the end of next year.
As well as replacing the town’s community hospital, the new Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre will provide local people with an additional primary care service, more same-day urgent care provision, and space to support mobile diagnostic units.

News that the Trowbridge facility has been given the go-ahead follows NHSPS’ delivery of its ‘sister’ site Devizes Health Centre.
Services that will be housed in the new integrated care centre include maternity care, physiotherapy, podiatry and community-based mental health support. Moving services from the current Trowbridge Community Hospital to the new site will be phased as part of a planned relocation process.
