Infection prevention and control has become one of the prime concerns in healthcare owing to an increased awareness of patient safety and the considerable burden of HAI’s. Invasive devices, poor postoperative status and lack of standardized
decontamination of surgical instruments are some of the major challenges in preventing infections in healthcare facilities.
Earlier, the cost of HAI’s was borne by patients, however, recent changes have mandated healthcare organizations to bear these costs. The costs incurred by drug-resistant infections amount to an estimated EUR 1.5 billion annually. “Infection Control, Sterilization and Decontamination in Healthcare” organised by MnM conferences, on 25th & 26th of February, 2016 in London aims at providing a platform for the industry leaders to discuss and brainstorm on the ongoing
advancements and challenges for better sterile environment in hospitals.
