Overview

The IHEEM Water Technical Platform (WTP) has a shared commitment to advancing water safety and compliance across healthcare estates.

The platform is actively working to become the recognised authority not only domestic hot and cold water systems, but also wastewater, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and other closed-loop systems that are critical to healthcare environments. The platform’s scope is expanding to reflect the interconnected nature of water hygiene, system design, and operational risk.

A key focus of the group is inclusivity.By broadening participation, the platform aims to foster collaboration, share best practice, and support continuous professional development across disciplines.

The WTP is currently undergoing structural reform to support this vision. Plans are underway to establish working groups, develop guidance, and host events that reflect the diverse challenges faced by estates and facilities teams
